Thank you for your interest in Bible Fiction Writer’s group. The goal of the group is for those who write Bible fiction to be able to get together, discuss & critique each others’ work, and to encourage and/or provide suggestions when folks inevitably get stuck.
The first, and really the only rule, is the golden rule. Since you’re interested in writing Biblical fiction, I’ll assume you know what that is :). Specifically, we have an absolute 0 tolerance for flaming, bullying, name-calling, etc, and that sort of behavior will result in a ban.
Also, this is not a place for debates, specifically doctrinal or political.
We’ll set up a mailing list, whereby those who are interested can sign up to receive writing submissions of others and where you can send your piece for critique. Please keep it to 1500 words or less.
Kindness is the overarching principle of the group. Critiques should focus on things like errors in historical fact, passages that cause confusion or raise questions, or errors in spelling or grammar.
I don’t have a lot of resources, so the meetings will take place via conference call. This can be via cell phone, POTS (plain old telephone service), or the Free Conference call app. In addition to scheduled meetings, you are welcome to use the conference line to ask for help w/any difficulties you’re facing regarding your writing–all I ask is that you notify me beforehand that you wish to do so in order to insure no conflicts exist.
Filling out the below form indicates your willingness to subscribe to the mailing list in order to send and receive writing submissions.
Posts on Saturdays and Sundays can promote your work, but please keep it to once weekly.
